The Daredevil Project: Listening to your heart

This portrait of Daredevil in costume by David Mack, from the Wake Up arc, has always been one of my favorites. My friend Cynthia Hebbard sent me this glorious tie-dyed fabric that reminded me of an EKG, and gave me the idea to express the way Matt Murdock perceives when someone is lying to him. The Braille reads “listen”. David Mack signed this piece for me at a comic con.

The hand beaded fringe shown here is the second fringe I worked on this piece. The first one used long bugle beads and cut through the beading thread. I wanted to show the “blip” in Matt’s radar when someone lied to him.
